Nursery (3-4 Years)
The nursery curriculum continues to reinforce the development of expressive language, communication and vocabulary skills. Motor skills development is more actively promoted alongside personal, emotional and social development and eventually shifts from emergent strategies of the early years to purposeful acquisition and understanding of content, skills and concepts. Curriculum reinforces children’s increasing competencies in language as a tool for learning and communication. Emerging literacy in reading and numeracy skills are introduced to promote the children’s beginning capacity for acquiring skills and concepts.
With more sophisticated motor skills, children are enabled to continue writing practices through manipulative and pre-writing experiences. Expectations for emotional and social development continues to be prioritized, resulting in a greater autonomy and independence, enhanced self-help skills, emotional self-regulation, self-concept and confidence.
Early years learning ensures a smooth transition to the more structured and skills-driven learning of the preschool years.
Nursery 1 curriculum is carefully structured within the daily interactions a child experiences to reinforce:

Nursery 2 enables children to acquire an understanding of content, skills and concepts. The curriculum reinforces competencies in:
